I thought this unit illustrated nicely the complexity of expressing conditional sentences. The variety of possible meanings, the tricky construction of hypothetical events and consequences, and the tense changes must make this area extremely difficult for ESL students. On the other hand, I think reported speech is a relatively easy grammar component and there are many excellent games that can be played to teach it.This unit on future tenses was difficult to understand. I realized that I have never taught anything but the future simple tense. It is an advance lesson for ELL students. The break down, explanation, and teaching ideas were all really good. Even showing how some tenses should be taught in conjunction with one another was a good suggestion. Practicing grammar, even as a native speaker, is always good practice.
