I like analogies as a learning concept so was quite taken with the tree analogy as a breakdown of grammar, vocabulary and functions. I also appreciated the ideas for class lessons which I hope to learn about more in future units. The main concept I got from this unit was that of functions. I have generally thought of language as being made up of grammar and vocabulary. Functions is a new addition for me to consider.This unit covered what we will be seeing in the next units. It showed guidelines of what we can expect as students of this class and as teachers of the future. It broke down basic terminology of words and abbreviations that are used in the business English world. It also showed the different scenarios this knowledge can be helpful in. I look forward to the rest of this class, it looks to be some helpful information.
