This unit was important to me as it taught me how it is not only looking and hearing that are responsible for understanding language, but also your head must be able to gain meaning from previous experiences. It taught me that you should not only use texts designed for the students, but also ones that you would find in every day life, to expose students to words they have not heard before.this unit takes a close look at speaking and writing skills. It cover techniques and activities that can help both the teacher and student in the English language classroom.
I have learnt that when it comes to speaking and writing skills, the teacher is required to be flexible with selecting appropriate activities for the students, that will boost their motivation and confidence to learn.
