As mentioned in the chapter, for native or bi-lingual speakers, you go by every day without really knowing the rules. You apply the rules correctly, because it has become a habit. Now that I?m (once again) aware of the rules, I feel better equipped to explaining it to my students.Receptive skills are different from productive and there can be a trick in teaching them in a right way. That's true that there are different reasons for reading and listening and depending on the purpose the learning process may differ. However it is important that we teach the students to understand the language and distinguish the reason for their reading or listening. Unit gave good examples of ESA based lesson.
