This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
I tend to get a bit aflutter when imagining how my first lesson will go as an English teacher. Looking back at all the units for this course I realize that there's a lot of things you have to remember to take into account when teaching kids. This unit definitely helps to see how a first lesson on the first day of the job should be like and that establishing a good rapport with students is vital to helping kids learn. Some people are good at lesson plans and make them look easy. Others take a long time to think them out carefully so each step makes sense and is as effective as possible. I myself am not great at lesson plans and in fact take a very long time to complete them. My teachers going through school seemed to be very good at writing lesson plans...often two or three lesson plans written in short form notes on one a4 paper.
