Pronunciation is key for students to become fluent in English. I tend to try and stay away from tongue twisters when teaching phonetics. Fluent English speakers cant say them so why would i frustrate my students with something that is beyond fluency. I like to do a technique called mirroring where me and a student say a phrase at the same time over and over until he matches me.It just shows you how and when to introduce certain structural aspects of teaching the language! Also how to deal with certain conflicts within the students native tongue and the English language! Also the relevance of the words taught and their usages.I also see that it gives you a better insight into what techniques to use in order to teach all the various parts to this unit.
