This unit has covered the usages and teaching ideas for each past tense,simple, continuous, perfect and past perfect continuous. I have learnt how to distinguish between four types in the affirmative, negative and question style form. This unit has also taught me different ways to explain and help students solve their mistakes and errors when using the past tense.In this unit, I learnt about the difference between authentic materials and created materials. Authentic materials have a wide range of materials from newspapers to films while created materials include crossword puzzles and role-play cards. I also learnt about the advantages and disadvantages of course book. Using a course book is easier when creating a syllabus.
