In this unit, I learned the specific differences between the multiple forms of the past tense, including past simple, past continuous, past perfect, and past perfect continuous. I found the charts with irregulars to be particularly helpful, because being a native speaker, I oftentimes don?t notice small irregularities like those, but they need to be pointed out to new speakers. I also learned multiple teaching techniques.This unit covered the use of teaching aids and the various examples used in a classroom. It ranged from the traditional white board use to listening to cassette tapes through a lesson. I enjoyed this unit because it gave advantages and disadvantages of each method. For example, advantages of the OHP are that they can be prepared in advance and focus student attention but a disadvantage may be that it is complicated to set up.
