After learning this unit, I now know that teaching different part of a language (be it grammar, language function, or vocabulary) would require different approach as each part is slightly different in terms of level of learning and goal. I wonder what can I do if I want to teach focus on grammar, function, and vocabulary altogether by making a thematic/topical approach of learning the language.This unit was really helpful in explaining what students are most confused about regarding future tenses, such as the difference between the 'going to' structure compared to the present continuous. Also made some great teaching suggestions, and explained thoroughly the distinctions between future tenses. I also really liked the fortune telling teaching idea for teaching the future simple tense.
