The grammatical rules on modals, phrasal verbs, and passive voice are difficult and complicated indeed for ESL students. Unit 18 has explained the issues in systematic depth which help me, as an English teacher, to see and able to differentiate the usages of each modal and phrasal verbs groups. I experienced that teaching ESL students on these issues are best presenting to them as vocabulary items.The different usages of the future forms and their grammatical functions.
This might have been the most difficult grammar point for me so far in this course. Choosing the right form for the right time will require more training on my part but I find it very intriguing to slowly learn more. I do think I will need to go back and revies this on several occations before mastering all the forms though.
