It is important to remember that writing is just as important a skill, yet is underrated. In the classroom. teachers are hesitant to give up time with the class for writing, and delegate those tasks instead to homework, which is often overlooked or undone. Writing is important to the success of learning the English language and it should be given time and attention, enough for students to feel comfortable with the rules that apply to it.This unit focuses on all the present tenses, how they are used and how to teach them. While the grammar was mostly review, I think the activities suggested to help teach these tenses are great. I especially liked the section on Present Perfect Tense, because I find that this tense is challenging for students to understand and use effectively. The unit also required me to consider common student errors and what I would do to correct them.
