Testing and Evaluation is a really wide topic, there are many options available for teacher to study and apply to students depending on the purpose and context of each as well as the stage of the course. In the case of general external examinations the teachers’ goal must be to help students acquire the necessary elements to pass this specific test. On the other side, the rest of tests must be tools to keep track of the students’ and course’s progress but not the aim, since tests as aims make everything more mechanical and predictable, when learning should be an enjoyable and meaningful process, and by meaningful I mean realistic and close to the students context and real life focused.
