This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In Unit 9, the importance of lesson planning in the classroom is discussed. A sample lesson plan format is introduced, along with what is and is not necessary to include in a lesson plan. As a newcomer to the ESA style of teaching, I appreciated seeing each phase laid out in the lesson plan, along with great sample activities that seem as though they would flow nicely in a classroom. The content of this unit was interesting and educational. The two basic receptive skills were learnt. The elaboration on how we read and listen was very helpful; it went in detail discussing the different areas that are are covered during listening and reading and how they are covered. It was great to have an outline of a Patchwork lesson as an example on how to teach receptive skills.
