This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
I learned that there is a difference between a mistake and an error that a student makes. It was very useful to see the Engage Study and Activate types of lessons. The concept of a Boomerang and Patchwork ESA were good to learn and see examples of. I also really appreciated the numerous Engage activities that were provided, like the 'Consequences' game and the 'I Spy' game. The unit was quite enlightening especially on choice of vocabulary to teach. Going by the local curriculum here, some course books do not clearly give the vocabulary to teach thus giving the teacher a very hard time. It was a remedial unit for unit three about the ESA lessons.
I mostly appreciate that I have learnt the difference between receptive and productive vocabulary.
