The complexities of the conditional never fail to surprise me. I can't believe that I was not taught this at school! I did not know these things and I guess most of the time I say them correctly however, it calls into question all of my reporting skills. It would once again make us think of how important it is to think of grammar and how we can teach it in an exciting way for our students.In this unit I have learned the advantages and disadvantages of authentic materials. I have learned that authentic materials can give students confidence when they understand them but the disadvantage of authentic materials is that they are not geared towards ESL students. I believe the advantage of course books is that they can give me a direction as to what I should teach the students.
