I believe it is easy for English speakers to think there are only three tenses with exceptions. This unit went beyond the simple past, present and future, but it made it more clear on present tense. It went more in depth by explaining the present simple, perfect, continuous and perfect continuous, but I believe it made it simpler to learn in the long run because we don't have to explain the present tense with a lot of exceptions.This unit gives a brief introduction to conditionals and reported speech. The five main conditionals include zero, first, second, third and mixed conditionals. It is a clause and tenses that makes this a tough point of language. Reported speech and direct speech are usually distinguished by punctuations. Reported speech usually comes in a tense previous to direct speech and attention should also be paid to the time expressions.
