In this unit, I learned the importance of balance between vocabulary, functions and language structure when teaching the English language. I learned valuable examples that work best when dealing with certain categories. It helped a lot to see that different types of ESA patterns work better than others for each situation. When picking material, it is important to always keep in mind the level of the class and the appropriacy!The Unit 7 did confuse me in the sense that language functions and the Boomerang ESA and Patchwork lessons were involved. The techniques and teaching methods for the vocabulary and grammar functions were insightful and how to go about teaching the lesson or in the process of planning them for the students appropriately. I will be rereading through the Unit to increase my understanding if there was any misunderstandings of it.
