The chapter is on various methods for teaching different language structures and forms. Firstly the unit covers on how to teach vocabulary to the speakers of a foreign language. It discusses not only vocabulary but also grammar and language functions. It guides us how a lesson should manage three phases. That is the Engage, the Study and the Activate phases.In this unit, I learned about course books and how teachers should use them. This unit was helpful in that it reminded me that even with course books, the teacher should still find creative and helpful ways to teach his or her students. A good teacher does not stick to the book at all times, but rather supplements the book and uses outside materials as well.
