I've learned in this lesson that effective teaching of receptive language skills requires the teacher to truly know the students and have good rapport with them. I will have to know what interests and motivates them, and have a good idea of their vocabulary level. This pre-teaching of difficult vocabulary is essential, or else the lesson could derail later as the students find it too difficult and become discouraged.This unit reflects on the theories, techniques and methods of teaching English. The unit is very clear and the layout makes it easier to follow and understand . It helped me understand better the different techniques and models that a teacher can use to conduct their lessons. There is a variety of models and techniques that a teacher can use which makes it easier to choose different models to suit different students.
