I felt this unit was very helpful in discussing how students learn vocabulary and the importance of it. Many students will know many more word than they are comfortable using in the spoken language. It is important to engage them in activities where they can speak these words and use them with confidence. It was helpful to see the different activities that should be used in each section: Engage, Study, and Activate.In this unit we touched up on pronunciation and phonology which is a very important and personal chapter for me since I am not a native speaker and it is bit complicated. We have discussed different teaching techniques for teaching intonation as well as stress. I have also learned phonetic alphabet how to write it and read it. Lastly I have studied Articulation and different ways you can teach it and when to teach it.
