This unit focused on the different methodology used in language teaching. While this is interesting and informative, I thought that focusing most of this unit's test on those was ineffective since these methods are not the focus of this program. I found the rest of the unit much more practical and helpful. The unit gave a lot of great ideas to use in the engage, study and activate stages of lessons.Tests are a natural part of the classroom, but thinking about them as measures for progress rather than hurdles or objectives of the class helps to create more helpful evaluations that encourage students to review what they have learned. Using different kinds of tests (placement, diagnostic, progress, and practice) for their various purposes allows the teacher to determine how to continue the class.
