This chapter was very comprehensive and focused on phonology. The content included intonation, the international phonetics chart, and the location of sounds. Out of all the chapters we have covered, this chapter contained the most new information for me. I didn't realize how important intonation is in everyday language. This was also my first time looking at a international phonetics chart.Unit 16 reviews conditionals and reported speech. It was a good refresher course for the conditionals (zero, first, second, third, mixed). I learned about some teaching ideas for leading a conditionals lesson. I also learned about how tenses change when switching from Direct speech to Reported speech. I found the Direct/Reported tense comparison chart to be very useful as a reference point.
