This unit goes over the different kinds of testing that can be done in a classroom. Not only that it explains what testing is done for those who want to move, and those who want to study in an English speaking country. Knowledge of the external exams is helpful because a teacher can then help prepare students to take one of those tests. This unit does a good job of explaining the main kinds of testing and what each of them entail.Unit 13 covered teaching pronunciation and phonology. I learned about stress, rhythm and intonation as areas in the phonology of English. The unit covered the techniques for teaching intonation such as nonsense words, gesturing and singing. I also learned the way stress can be used on various parts of speech in order to provide emphasis. Lastly, I learned the symbols of the phonetic alphabet and how to use them to form sentences.
