This unit was by far the most information heavy that I've encountered yet. It feels like I'm learning brand new material rather than reviewing what I already knew. It's very exciting to start learning about methodology to use in the classroom, as it feels as though I'm starting to train to teach! As someone who has never taught or tutored, it had a lot of great information that I will probably end up returning to for reference.The 2 videos for unit 6 has taught me ways to act as a teacher ways, and ways to avoid. Inviting the students to build a good rapport, practice thinking, getting involved. Many techniques such as miming, gestures, asking questions, explaining meaning, repeating key words, use simple instructions, use a lot of appraisal, monitor student knowledge, remained tuned in to an easy going approach in order for them to feel comfortable.
