In this unit speaking and writing is highligted and both of them are equally importent. For a student to have a fluent conversation with someone in correctly pronounced words is the key goal for you as a teacher. If the student can write english in a manner that is correctly worded and understandable you have given the student confidence to not only speak english but also write it.Before starting this unit, I thought I had a fairly decent understanding of the parts of speech. Having gone through the unit, I learned two things. First, I was wrong. Also, I had no idea that so much was dependent on memorizing the various examples. For me, this was disappointing because I realized that understanding was not sufficient in a teaching sense. Very enlightening.
