It is important to use a lesson plan as a tool to help guide experienced and inexperienced teachers in meeting the students learning objectives. It was stressed that it is mainly a guideline and can be modified to meet the learner's needs and should be used as a record of learning and a reference tool. A lesson plan can be individualized but some information is important for later reference such as the timing of the lessons activities and learners goals. I learned how it can be used to record what went well in a lesson and what needs improving. I also learned you can use it as a record of who the class has improved overt he course of a unit or term. I hope to improve my lesson plans with the learner's needs in mind.
