This unit is answering the evaluation questions I've had for some time now. It's given me many of the resource ideas to adequately place a student(s). Assessing students in special ed. is usually covered externally, and I have followed an IEP(individual education plan) in creating my own student schedule. Here, I'll be doing the same thing, essentially, using different evaluative methods.This unit talked about the receptive skills, reading and listening. These skills are important to cultivate because they are how we gather information around us. The skills don't just require our eyes and ears but other skills which include prior knowledge and scanning. I learnt that it is in order to keep students involved the teacher must pick topics that are interesting to the students.
