When teaching the new vocabulary it is advised to use the typical ESL lesson with all the three stages: Engage, Study and Activate, but when teaching new language function it is recommended to use a boomerang type lesson plan where each stage is followed by Activate, it helps the students to master the usage of the language function and feel more comfortable using it.In this unit we discuss various methods that we can employ to teach our students, although each has its strengths and weaknesses. We as teachers understand that by using different methods we keep our students engaged and do not allow them to become bored. Also as each student learns in different ways we balance the needs of the class so that no student is left behind.
