Much like the present tenses unit, this unit gives a summary of the different rules related to the past tenses. It shows how patterns can be seen between the past, present, and future tenses, which helps simplify them and make them easier to remember. I found this unit particularly helpful because sometimes I have trouble describing why we use the past perfect instead of the past perfect continuous.This unit discusses receptive skills. As someone who is also learning a foreign language, I can see how a carefully-planned lesson with the objective of teaching those skills could be very helpful to the learner. Using topics that the students are interested in is an important aspect of language learning that many teachers don't concentrate enough on. I hope to keep that in mind for my own students.
