There are four basic skills in any language: receptive skills-reading and listening, and productive skills-reading and writing. Readers and listeners employ a number of specialist skills when reading or listening, and their understanding of the context will depend on their expertise on these areas: predictive skills, specific information-scanning, general idea-skimming, detailed information, and deduction from context.This unit focused on what the various tactics and methods discussed in the previous units look like in practice. This was very helpful to me to me in understanding and grasping, practically, how these teaching techniques actually interact with students in the classroom. Moreover, the lesson videos reinforced my understanding of how important attitude and presentation is from the teacher in prompting student engagement.
