This unit focuses on the pronunciation of the English language, which looks in depth in phonology. I have learned different areas of phonology including stress, rhythm, intonation, International Phonetic Alphabet and their uses in helping students to understand the pronunciation of English. I think learning the phonetic alphabet is very important because this would enable students to pronounce English correctly.In Unit 20 titled ?Troubleshooting?, I learned the various teaching situations that could become problematic without the right tools to know what to do. Some situations may involve the class? first lessons, different levels, large classes, use of native language, reluctant students and difficulties with listening texts. I picked up on the suggestions made for each scenario, such as the use of ?warmers?.
