In unit thirteen the learning of the phonetic sounds was the hardest. In my opinion, if I, as a native English speaker, have a hard time learner to read the phonetic script, I don't believe a new English speaker will learn. I can honestly say I still have a hard time understanding how to read when I see the phonetic script. I would do my best to teach the students, but I do not think it would benefit them in anyway to learn to read that.Unit 15 dealt with how to evaluate students through the use of testing, which included placement, diagnostic, progress, practice, and external tests. In addition, it went into detail about certain tests that are available throughout certain non-teaching departments such as the Cambridge Assessment. The unit also provided a sample test to shed light on what an ELS placement test would consist of and the different components of that test.
