In this unit I have learnt about the advantages and disadvantages of authentic and non-authentic materials as well as about the advantages and disadvantages of using course books along with the different ways in which course books can be used in class. I learnt how a teacher should choose and analyse a course book and supplement the course book with other materials in order to motivate students to learn English.This unit covered the past tenses. Past simple verbs can be difficult if they don't follow the -d, -ed rule. Since irregular verbs don't follow this pattern, students have to rely on memorization. Past tense verbs, like the present tense, are divided among four aspects- simple, continuous, perfect, and perfect continuous. All continuous forms use a form of the verb \"to be\" along with the 'ing form of the verb.
