This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
The material in this unit was mostly comprehensible, but I had issues with some of the points regarding discipline and codes-of-conduct. In my experience as a student, each school I have attended had a specific code of conduct, but it didn't deter problem behaviour. I think it would have been useful in this unit to point out that while these codes exist, it does not always follow that students will adhere. The emphasis shouldn't be on following a code-of-conduct, but rather why it is important to do so. I feel that students respond well to reason as opposed to being forced into a set of rules and regulations. All life is governed by a set of rules that we must follow, but it is imperative to explain why these rules exist.
