It's important to note not to engage the students with authentic material that will overwhelm them and lower their confidence. Start out by using non-authentic material in order to introduce them to basics of the language and begin a gradual learning process. From my own experience as a teacher, using a celebrity as an example is an excellent idea to spark interest in a lesson especially with younger students.This study unit discusses what kinds of course books and lesson materials can be used and the benefits and disadvantages of the materials chosen. I have learned that created material is not always the best choice to make, but is definitely a good basis to work from. It decision on which materials to use should be a creative diction form the teacher in order to get to the best possible outcome for the students.
