This unit focussed on dealing with certain challenging situations that can come up. Most notably it dealt with new classes that have very little english and big classes that will be hard to manage and keep engaged. I was surprised at the unit's insistence on avoiding the students' native language. It seems like at least in one on one work, explaining things in their native language is very useful.This study units is about pronunciation and phonology and how to teach it to students. I have learned that inclinations in certain words and sentences can have a major deference to the intended message in a dialogue. This can be very difficult for people who did not learn the English Language from a young age. I have learned the importance of teaching pronunciation and phonology in the class room.
