This unit dealt with teaching materials, presenting examples and differences between authentic i.e. real life and created teaching materials. It also discussed the advantages and disadvantages of using coursebooks and considerations for selecting coursebooks that will provide the most benefit to students. This unit has provided me with very useful information that will help me throughout my teaching career.This unit was rather difficult as it covered areas of grammar that are not intuitive to a native English speaker. I have always had a difficult time finding the stressed word or syllable and analyzing parts of the mouth is not something that I think about when I speak. The phonetic alphabet was particularly helpful and I will strive to incorporate various elements of how to pronounce words with my students.
