It was good to see a list of various tools that can be used in the classroom, and how they can be used effectively. One of the new ideas I got was to have the students sit back-to-back and watch a muted video and then describe the scene to their partner. The effective use of the board was useful (i.e. the idea of have a prototype planned out on a separate sheet of paper to follow).This unit made me recognize major flaws I have had in previous English lessons to young learners. I am guilty of using their native language to explain instructions and even teaching points thinking it would make it easier for them to understand. Thankfully, now I know that stunts their learning since they will wait for me to speak in their native language once they don't understand.
