Unit 20 focuses on some common problem situations that most language teachers will face at some time and offers practical suggestions and solutions. Some warm up exercises are provided for establishing rapport on the first day of class. I learned that one of the biggest problems teachers face is when students are at various levels. Some strategies proposed are to use different materials if there is a serious discrepancy in levels, assigning the same materials but different tasks appropriate to the students level, and pairing of stronger students with the weaker ones. I was expecting to read further instructions for creating my lesson plan in order to complete my online portion of my work before my practicum begins on Monday.
