This unit covered the 7 most common areas of the future tense and their usage. These are as follows: Future Simple, example: ‘I’ll pick you up later’, Future Continuous, example: ‘I’ll be getting on the train at 7pm’, Future Perfect, example: ‘I’ll have finished my exams by tomorrow’, Future Perfect Continuous, ‘He’ll have been driving for tow hours before he reaches Paris’, Be going + Infinitive, ‘It’s going to rain later’, Present Simple ‘The train leaves platform 5 in 10 minutes’, Present Continuous, example: ‘I’m meeting her for coffee tomorrow’. Of note is the fact that Present Continuous is sometimes used as a past tense.
