In this unit I have learned how similar some of the future tenses in the English language can be. For example ?going to? future tense can be used for predictions based on present evidence, future simple tense however, is based on predictions with no present evidence. This ?evidence? could be a tricky point for ESL learners and therefore needs to be stressed in the teaching of future tenses.In this unit I learned about a very important grammar point that changes the direct speech when using reported speed. The verbs change their original tense to a new one,except in two cases. Also,I learned that this changes are potential mistakes and difficulty in the students. I received some good teaching ideas to help them understand it like: interviews, role play and the reporting verbs exercises.
