This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit covered \"receptive skills\" (i.e. reading and listening). It explained that more then your \"eyes and ears\" are involved, where the pitfalls lie for students and teachers and and gave some examples on how to design an ESA lesson (this time in the \"patchwork\" form) on the topic.
As always I enjoyed and benefited from the materials and examples provided the most. They are really suited to help me becoming a better teacher. After doing poorly on the present tenses test, I found myself much more determined to pass this unit. I feel that I now have a better grasp on not only the past tenses, but also the present ones as well. It can definitely become confusing understanding how one tense can be used to mean so many different things but then another is rarely used and has only one purpose. Tenses are definitely something that takes time to really understand.
