This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit 14 deals with the strengths and weaknesses between using authentic and created materials as well as looking at the same advantages of using course books and self created materials. This is important to the teacher because as a native speaker we seldom consider tasks from the view point of a non-native speaker and how they interact with different mediums and stylistic changes to writing. This has been a great unit as it has taught me the methods and styles of teaching I can incorporate in the class, although what we covered here is with students with at least some form of English speaking skills, I am sure the coming units will cover students with zero English knowledge.it has also given me great insight as to how to create a fun and entertaining side of English.
