This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This was a pretty standard unit that simply stated effective methods of teaching listening and reading skills. Listening and reading skills are among my favorite, because they provide an opportunity to learn new vocabulary through context. Students should be given the opportunity to exercise their minds through using context to develop new vocabulary, instead of pre-instructing each and every unfamiliar word.Another concise but useful unit on teaching equipment in the classroom. I found this to be a fairly straightforward unit, but it is good to know in what situations to use what kind of materials. There were definitely a few useful tips and tricks. I wouldn't have thought ( for example) that capital letters are found less legible and less effective, and that instead circling or high lighting is more effective.
