This unit discusses the importance of a lesson plan. This is definitely one of my weakest areas in the classroom. I always have a general idea of what I want to cover in my lessons, but I very rarely write down a definite plan. The engage, study, activate labels are also a new concept to me and I need to spend a little more time learning and understanding their use.In this unit I learned about teaching receptive skills which are: reading and listening. There are two main categories of applying receptive skills: for a purpose and for entertainment. Knowing how to keep student engaged by using a variety of topics that excite the students. Topics like, popular films, songs, and book are examples of ways to get students to engage.
