This unit focused on vocabulary, grammar and functions.
I've learned how to use the \"ESA model\" for vocabulary. I can engage the grammar or vocabulary via a discussion, a scenario, by asking questions, or by using pictures.
The study phase can include different exercises, or crosswords. Finally, the activate class may include role-playing, simulation, debate, etc...This was a good \"dip your toe in the water\" class for starting to think about the special needs of certain ESL classes. The concept of a needs assessment form was very useful, and I think that I will use this sort of form when starting future ESL classes. I'm looking forward to taking the Young Learners class later on, to augment the information presented in this unit.
