This section was useful because it emphasized the problems that can arise while teaching listening and reading comprehension. More importantly, though, it taught me the solutions to the problems, as well as ways to prevent them before they happen. For example, it emphasized teaching students harder material that may show up in certain texts, as well as varying topics in order to keep students interested and motivated.The expression \"I hear you\" does not always signify that \"I'm listening to you\". My words might go in your one ear and out the other. Teaching students to listen and not merely to hear is so important in helping them grasp the meaning of a dialogue. The same applies to reading a text when we do it for a goal-oriented purpose. This unit gave a good overview of the specialist skills required when reading or listening.
