Unit 10 showed two videos of an English Lesson in session. In the first video, the teacher showed himself to be everything that a good teacher is not. He seemed confused, disorganized and had no structure to his lesson. He was rude and had a condescending manner. As a result, the students were uncomfortable and nervous and lacking motivation. They didn't get anything out of the lesson.
In the second video, the teacher was friendly, smiling and showed a sense of humour. This immediately put the students in a comfortable, relaxed mode, which led to greater participation in the lesson. There was structure in this lesson, the teacher was helpful and had better rapport with the students. An all round better teacher in the second video.
