Unit 19 was a nice change of pace from grammar lessons. :) It was interesting to see the different needs and approaches for special groups, such as young learners and business people. From the way this unit was presented, it helps me not to be so nervous about teaching either group. I would like to sometime in the future take the further course work for these two groups.In this unit I have learned about teaching pronunciation and phonology to students. I have understood which words have stressed and unstressed vowels and the difference it can make to how a word sounds if the stress is in the wrong place. I have also looked at intonation and pitch and now have a solid understanding of how pitch is such a vital part of speaking English.
