This unit goes over how to teach the receptive skills of reading and listening. It tells how both are equally important, but must also be taught in a way that is interesting to the students to keep them motivated to learn. I did not find this unit as helpful as some of the previous ones, because it seemed to be common sense. None the less I will use it during my teaching practice.Knowing the difference between accuracy and fluency helps when planning lessons because we know what skills and activities to focus on. It's important to get verbally fluent students to also write their thoughts, so we can check for their accuracy as well. It's also important to know when not to correct a student for accuracy, so that he or she can become more fluent when speaking.
